This new Simbad 55, built in Spain, was presented for the first time at the IMS in La Grande-Motte last April, and we were finally able to sail aboard hull #1 from Monaco.

On board this bluewater cruising catamaran, it is immediately clear that the designers have set the bar very high, starting with a successful design featuring large, sweeping coachroof arches. On the vertical forward face of the coachroof, there is no forward door, but Darnet Design has created a huge electrically opening window measuring 6'7" (2 m) wide.
An attempt has been made to strike a balance between performance, comfort and ease of use, with a high-end sail wardrobe alongside an XXL flybridge, powerful twin 150 hp engines (the optional configuration fitted to our test boat) and an electric sail-handling system. Inside, every detail has been carefully considered to create a chic and refined atmosphere. High-quality materials such as bleached oak and walnut are enhanced by generous natural light.
