At the end of August, Meade Gougeon passed away from skin cancer at the age of 78.
But not without having attended one last regatta (The Great Lakes Multihull Regatta), in view of his house the day before... A pioneer of epoxy construction, the West System, Meade along with his brother Jan, the Gougeon Brothers, revolutionized maritime construction in the 1960s. Without doubt, our multihulls of today would never have existed without the genius of the Gougeon Brothers…
