Based in Viareggio, at the heart of the Italian boating industry, the new shipyard Cantiere del Vybe is making a notable entry into the power multihull market with its first model, the Vybe 43.
This powercat stands apart from most of its competitors thanks to a radically different approach: with a beam of just 13’ (3.97 m) for an overall length of 41'7" (12.67 m), it has dimensions comparable to those of a monohull of similar size. While these proportions are already common among American offshore fishing powercats, they remain virtually unheard of in the recreational powercat sector, where vessels are typically around 3' (1 m) wider.
The objective is clear: to make marina berths easier to access while retaining the advantages of a multihull platform - stability, generous deck space and reduced fuel consumption. Designed by Adam Younger, the Vybe 43 features slender, high-performance hulls intended to deliver excellent efficiency, with fuel consumption claimed to be 22% lower than that of a comparable monohull while still achieving impressive speeds.
Its clean styling, minimalist yet luxurious accommodations, and construction in Viareggio using leading local subcontractors clearly position the model in the premium segment. The first two units will be launched in the coming weeks ahead of their official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
The builder is also expected to announce three additional models shortly: a 53, 66, and 77.
