A longtime monohull sailor, Jean-Marc changed course when it came to buying his own boat. Some advice from friends gradually sank in: if he wanted his children to come sailing with him, and more importantly, to want to come back, a catamaran would be the better choice! The challenge was finding a model that could still deliver the sailing sensations he was used to. "The idea was to choose a performance multihull that would give me something close to the sailing pleasure of a monohull. And Outremer was perfect for that."
After the first 900 nautical miles to Cape Verde, followed by the 2,130-nautical-mile Atlantic crossing to Marie-Galante, Turkooise won't be stopping in Guadeloupe. Jean-Marc plans to head south toward St. Vincent and the Grenadines, enjoy the islands, then make his way north to St. Barts before continuing to the Bahamas. The return passage, which will complete his Atlantic circuit, is planned for around April or May 2027.
An Atlantic crossing with a rally fleet to start things off, followed by several months of family cruising: a program that perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Outremer 45!
