Nine Catamarans Ready to Cross the Atlantic!

The Rallye des Îles du Soleil is gearing up for the start of its 8th edition this Friday, October 30, from Morro Jable, on the southern tip of Fuerteventura. Organized since 2017 by Grand Pavois Organisation (GPO), this transatlantic rally brings together 22 yachts this year, according to the latest information gathered on site, including nine catamarans: three Fountaine Pajots, four Lagoons, one Nautitech and one Outremer.

Our correspondent Graham is on location in the Canary Islands, where he has met the crews of all nine participating multihulls. His video interviews will soon be available on our media channels. He'll also be covering the rally's start, with light winds forecast but a friendly atmosphere guaranteed on the docks and aboard the yachts!

The itinerary begins with a 900-nautical-mile leg to Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde. Following this stopover, the fleet will set sail again on November 11 to cross the Atlantic toward Marie-Galante, with 2,130 nautical miles ahead. The first arrivals are expected from November 23 onward in Saint-Louis Bay, on Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe.

Crews benefit from pre-departure safety inspections, daily weather bulletins and satellite tracking. Fountaine Pajot is among the partners supporting this year's edition.
