Alternative Yacht, cruising in a trimaran

For a long time, ocean cruising was the prerogative of monohulls. Then, faced with the evidence, a number of candidates for long-term sea voyages turned to the catamaran. But until now, the ocean cruising trimaran niche has only really been developed by Neel, with its superb 45 and 50-foot trimarans.
Alternative Yacht is now getting involved, by offering a range designed by Vincent Lebailly, of from 40 to 100 feet! For the moment, work has begun on the study of a 52-footer, the first example of which should be sailing round the world to validate the concept in 2014. The construction can be either in plywood/epoxy, glass/vinylester sandwich or aluminium, according to the owner's choice. Finally, the AY 52 can be delivered in various stages of completion, from the decked hull kit to the ready to sail boat.
