Caribbean Multihull Challenge - Tradewinds filling the sails!

Tailor-made courses out of the superb Simpson's Bay allowed all the multihulls, from the HH66 Nemo, through to the three Diam 24s entered, to enjoy the trade winds without restraint. The sailing in open water – with 5-foot (1.5 m) seas - was logically reserved for the larger multihulls. These were on the attack right from the start, with the 60 Mile Multihull Sprint, a long 60-mile leg towards Saint Barth and then the island of Tintamarre to tack round. The Bieker 53 Fujin managed to win this demanding race. Stephen hasn’t excluded the idea of adding the island of Saba as a mark of the course for next year... Either way, for the 2022 edition, a north-easterly wind established at 18/22 knots over the course of the three days of racing ensured quite a spectacle, lifting its fair share of windward hulls. There were a few irritating breakages (a main halyard, a gennaker furler), but nothing to prevent any of the 14 competitors present on the line from trying to exact revenge the following day!
