Excess 11 Hybrid

Forever Green Now Becoming Affordable!

There was a pleasant surprise awaiting us on the pontoons of La Grande-Motte at the International Multihull Show: the first production Excess Hybrid was on display!

Although the technical specifications presented at the show were not yet up to date – nor was the price configurator on the website – Thibaut de Montvalon, the brand director, assured us that the Hybrid option will be available on all Excess models!
Discussions launched two years ago on the Excess Lab have clearly shown the interest that boaters have in hybrid catamarans. While the technology now seems to be well established, the same cannot be said for the additional cost of an combustion engine/hybrid system. This is precisely the point that the Excess brand has been fighting for, as the hybrid option comes in at “just” €84,000 before tax. That’s still a lot of money for a model starting at €342,900, but it remains below the symbolic 25%-mark, which Thibaut believes will help encourage takeup of this more environmentally friendly mode of propulsion.
