Originally announced by the brand’s previous management team, the Neel 48 project has since been further refined with the ambition of becoming the next best-seller among cruising trimarans.
The new model reuses part of the tooling developed for the 47 while featuring a wider aft section on the central hull and, above all, a completely redesigned interior layout. Gone are the separate companionways leading down into the floats. The 48 retains only aft access hatches serving two crew cabins. The nacelle further develops the “cockloon” concept, offering an even greater sense of space and seamless continuity between the saloon and cockpit. The coachroof has been subtly raised, bringing more natural light into both the saloon and galley. To starboard, the owner’s suite is located on the same level as the main living area. A two-cabin configuration is also available. The deck layout features a pronounced reverse sheerline. The steps leading forward onto the coachroof and the electric mainsheet traveller are particularly noteworthy. One change is still planned: the diagonal steps near the foredeck lounge area will disappear. A hybrid propulsion option is available. Launch is scheduled for September 2027.
