The 37th edition of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show lived up to expectations from May 21 to 24. With 300 exhibitors, 800 boats, 2,500 marine-related products, and no fewer than 50,000 visitors, the event has firmly established itself as Australia’s largest boat show.
Although the island continent is home to only 26 million inhabitants - barely 8% of the population of the United States - it nevertheless boasts a large community of sailing enthusiasts. Recreational boatbuilders are also very well established there.
Kevin Green, our Australian correspondent, attended the show on our behalf and, of course, visited the multihulls on display, including the Australian-built Mahi and Voyager models. Numerous Asian-based brands were also present, such as Cure Marine, HH, Iliad, and Seawind. As for the major players like Aquila, Excess, Fountaine Pajot, Lagoon, and Robertson & Caine, they certainly did not miss this event, which has become a must-attend show.
