Following the all-electric Loopia 290 Family, Sea Loop Marine is already expanding the program of its 29-foot (8.9 m) powercat with the announcement of two new developments: hybrid propulsion and a Fishing version.

Developed with BlueNav and Mercury Marine France, the Loopia 290 Hybrid combines twin 115 hp Mercury EFI outboards with two intelligent, retractable 11 kW BlueNav electric pods. The builder claims a max speed of nearly 25 knots, a cruising speed of 17 knots and a range of close to 200 nautical miles.
The advantage of the system is that the combustion engines are reserved for fast cruising and longer passages, while the BlueNav pods take over for maneuvers, coastal cruising and accessing anchorages, silently and with zero emissions. They also provide Smart Navigation functions, including Virtual Anchor, 360° Docking and lateral movement.
This architecture will also serve as the basis for the future Loopia 290 Fishing, which is still being developed. Sea Loop Marine is working with Amiaud/Seanox and the Bourgenay Fishing Club to finalize its equipment. The concept is appealing: reach fishing grounds quickly using the Mercury engines, then switch to electric power to move around silently, control drift, reposition the boat precisely or hold it in place using the Virtual Anchor.
