The more reverse-raked bows extend the waterline, the daggerboards are 25.6" (65 cm) longer, and new carbon rudders complete the package.

The rig follows the same philosophy: a carbon mast raised by 3'3" (1 m), Kevlar standing rigging, an extended carbon forward crossbeam and a more generous sail plan. Windelo therefore claims a performance gain of at least 10% compared with the 54. Inside, the drive to reduce weight is reflected in the use of technical materials and a sportier atmosphere, without abandoning the builder’s fundamentals: bio-sourced and recyclable materials and electric propulsion as standard.
But this first 55 Sport won’t spend long playing the star of the Croisette. Entered in the ARC, it will soon set off from Las Palmas bound for Saint Lucia. This full-scale transatlantic crossing will provide a particularly interesting opportunity to assess the choices made for this new version.
