Aboard cruising multihulls, energy requirements continue to increase. Air conditioning, watermakers, induction cooking, navigation electronics, connectivity… all these systems are making electrical installations increasingly complex.
With its RV Solar System, Bluetti aims to simplify this architecture by bringing together the main energy management functions around its RV5 Power Hub.
Rather than using separate shore power chargers, inverters, solar controllers, DC-DC chargers and other electronic units, the manufacturer combines these functions into a single unit. Energy storage is provided by modular lithium batteries, with capacity tailored to the multihull’s cruising program, whether for coastal cruising or long-distance passagemaking.
The installation is completed by an AC/DC distribution panel and a 10-inch touchscreen providing real-time monitoring of solar production, battery status, onboard consumption and the various energy flows. The system can also be monitored remotely via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.
By reducing the number of components and cables required, the RV Solar System aims to simplify both installation and maintenance. An approach likely to appeal to owners of new-build multihulls as well as those considering a complete upgrade of their existing electrical system.
