Co-founded in 1997 by Sergio Moroni, the Italian company Ewol develops feathering propellers designed for cruising multihulls.
The brand specializes in rotating-blade propellers engineered to reduce drag under sail while optimizing propulsion, engine performance, and harbor maneuvering. The manufacturer notably highlights a micrometric pitch adjustment system that allows precise tuning of the propeller according to the multihull and its cruising program. Ewol also develops solutions compatible with both combustion and electric propulsion systems, paired with either mechanical or hydraulic gearboxes. The Enregymatic propellers, for example, can completely reverse the orientation of their blades in order to optimize hydrogeneration. The Italian company primarily uses Super Duplex stainless steel in the manufacture of its propellers, while some configurations are also available in titanium. The brand also emphasizes the upgradeable nature of its products through “plug & play” retrofit solutions that allow certain technical developments to be integrated over time.
