Pop-Up Fairleads: Retractable fairleads from Accon Marine

In the family of retractable deck fittings, we’ve all seen cleats, but now here are some fairleads.

Making hardware disappear below the deck is of course aesthetically pleasing, but it is also very useful when sailing downwind, to avoid catching any of the sheets. The other advantage? Less risk of injury for those on deck barefoot. Equipment manufacturer Accon Marine, based in Clearwater - west coast of Florida – is now offering this Pull-Up range. These fairleads are made of marine grade 316 stainless steel for maximum durability. There is one port-handed one, one starboard and one straight one for the stern. Pull-Ups are available in pairs in sizes 114 mm and 152 mm to suit rope diameters up to 16 mm and 19 mm. Installation is easy; a template supplied with each unit makes it easy to cut the deck properly. The fairlead is mounted with two stainless steel bolts. An optional drainage system allows water to be channeled away.
