The global leader in onboard energy, Victron Energy, is promoting its new Lithium NG battery. It is designed to meet the specific needs of boaters: spending longer periods at anchor while limiting the use of the generator to reduce CO2 emissions and... improving comfort on board.
Presented at the La Rochelle boat show by Valentine Gaubert, electrical product manager at VDM-Reya, the Lithium NG is based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology, renowned for its safety and longevity. After several thousand cycles, the battery retains more than 80% of its capacity. Available in three voltages (12.8 V, 25.6 V, and 51.2 V), it adapts to the electrical configurations found on cruising multihulls. Each battery incorporates a management system (BMS) that protects it and ensures communication with other equipment.
Its main advantage remains its integration into the Victron ecosystem: chargers, inverters, solar panels, alternators... all the components communicate with each other to optimize the available energy sources. Via the VictronConnect app and the VRM portal, users can monitor their installation in real time as well as manage it remotely.
