Now based at the Xquisite Catamaran Center in Freeport, Grand Bahama, the new Xquisite 60 Solar Power, that we had the opportunity to preview in Fort Lauderdale, has undertaken private sea trials with several potential customers.
Having reached its destination after a transatlantic passage from Aveiro, Portugal, to the Bahamas in September at an average speed of 8 knots, the powercat confirms the efficiency of its hybrid propulsion system: twin 440 HP Yanmar diesel engines combined with a high-voltage electrical system from e-Motion Hybrid.
On board, the various operating modes are surprisingly intuitive to use thanks to touch screens that centralize all the systems.
Although this first example, owned by the shipyard, is currently still in the development phase, five models have already found buyers.
