Our Australian correspondent Kevin Green got the opportunity for a test sail aboard the XF75, a luxurious powercat that is as high-performance as it is exclusive, with a superstructure that doubles as a helipad.
This powercat, offered by New Zealand manufacturer Voodoo Yachts and unveiled at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, features a carefully optimized hull and foils that allow it to reach speeds of up to 50 knots. In addition to this impressive speed for a 75-foot vessel, the Voodoo boasts fuel consumption well below that of an 85- to 90-foot monohull superyacht offering the same features: the usable area measures some 3,000 square feet (279 m²)... By limiting its speed to 8 knots, the XF75 is capable of ocean passage-making. Check out the full test report in our next Power Special Edition #25.
