The 55-footer from the builder has been widely popular, and many people have been waiting for a more accessible version. Construction will therefore begin this summer at the yard, close to Antalya in Turkey, once the third S2C55 has been launched.
The 45 is aimed at sailors looking for a blue water boat which can be sailed shorthanded and even singlehanded. Seaworthy, fast, comfortable at sea and at anchor, the S2C45, designed by Sébastien Schmidt is also suitable for the Nordic market, and will therefore be able to pass through the locks in Germany and Holland, hence the deliberately limited beam of 8m. All that remains is the price, announced as 850,000 euros exc. VAT, ready to sail, with notably the dinghy, four sails, the generator, full electronics and even the television, and of course the fridge and freezer.
The S2C 45 will have its world premiere at the Cannes Boat Show in 2013...
Note also that the Swiss Catamaran Concept Design Team and the architect Sébastien Schmidt are currently working on a project for a boat intended exclusively for charter. More voluminous than the traditional S2C, this 59-foot sailing boat is intended to accommodate ten guests in five double cabins; it will be sailed by a crew of 2-3 people who will have a specific independent cabin. This version will be available for a basic price of around a million euros.
