While European shipyards are focusing on modern designs with inverted bows and sharp lines, this isn’t necessarily the case in South Africa, Asia, and Argentina, where Antares Catamarans has managed to establish its Antares 44 with a more traditional design that is popular with American boaters.
Nevertheless, the yard has still sought to appear much more modern with its forthcoming 46, which contrasts quite radically with the 44. It features sharply inverted bows, an arch extending the coachroof forward, an imposing bimini aft and vertical sterns. Although the two models are only separated by two feet in length, all other dimensions have increased significantly: the beam has increased by 12%, the sail area by 25% and the displacement by 45%. As for the interior, the builder is promising great comfort, with the option to have a galley up version or galley down.
