Bali 4.3

The new silhouette notably stands out for its very forward coachroof arches, already seen on the Aquila Sail models and set to feature on the forthcoming Bali 7.0. The 4.3 naturally retains the solid foredeck, directly accessible from the saloon, and the tilting Bali door, joined by a flybridge beneath a full bimini and an electric aft platform for a tender up to 11'2" (3.4 m).

The evolution in displacement and sail area is interesting: the previous 4.3 displaced around 11.3 t with 963 sq ft (89.5 m²) of upwind sail area, giving a sail area-to-displacement ratio of 7.9 m²/t. The new model reaches 14 t but carries 1,184 sq ft (110 m²), with its 775 sq ft (72 m²) square-top mainsail and 409 sq ft (38 m²) self-tacking jib. At 7.85 m²/t, the ratio therefore remains virtually unchanged despite an additional 2.7 t and significantly more generous volumes.

Bali is also focusing on autonomy, with a 48 V electrical architecture, up to 3,000 W of solar panels, 211 US gal (800 l) of fuel, 227 US gal (860 l) of fresh water and 22.4 cu ft (634 l) of refrigeration capacity. The builder remains committed to conventional engines, with either twin 50 hp or twin 59 hp units.
Accommodation is available with three or four cabins, with the latter configuration able to be converted later into a three-cabin Owner’s version thanks to non-structural interior partitions.
