Just after the Cannes Yachting Festival closed, we were able to test the replacement for the Lagoon 46.

Off to an excellent commercial start, this VPLP design remains faithful to the brand’s DNA but adopts a forward door and a genuine 129 sq ft (12 m²) forward cockpit, a much larger flybridge and hulls that quickly become very wide above the waterline thanks to pronounced steps, allowing transverse berths to be fitted.
The version we tested featured three cabins, with the starboard hull dedicated to the Owner and, aft to port, a cabin with direct access to the cockpit. Under sail, we were pleasantly surprised, as the Lagoon 47 managed to reach 5.4 knots in just 6.7 knots of true wind. It should be noted that we had a gennaker and folding propellers. Hull #1 was fitted with twin 57 hp diesel engines, but two 25 kW electric pods are available as an option.
