Multihull Cup

Since its first edition in 2016, the formula has barely changed: bring together some of the fastest cruising multihulls of the moment, unload the bluewater cruising gear on the dock, hoist the racing sails and hand these machines over to crews who aren’t afraid to push them hard!

For this anniversary edition, attention will notably be focused on Allegra, the 84-footer designed by Nigel Irens, defending champion and already a three-time winner of the event, and the Gunboat 80 Highland Fling XVIII, a VPLP design that won in 2024. The two competitors have just faced each other at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, where they finished tied on points, with Highland Fling XVIII ultimately winning on countback after also recording a top speed of 34.7 knots.

The fleet will also include the Gunboat 72 Layla, the Morelli & Melvin 65 Gaea, runner-up in the 2025 Multihull Cup, as well as Cool Beauty II, a 60-foot Ocean Explorer designed by German Frers that will be taking part in the event for the first time. Coco de Mer, the Gunboat 66 that finished second in the very first edition, was also due to return but ultimately had to withdraw following a technical problem.

Three days of racing are scheduled off the southwest coast of Mallorca under the ORCmh rule, with coastal courses and windward-leeward races depending on conditions. It is a deliberately compact format combining competition on the water with a much more relaxed atmosphere once the multihulls return to Port Adriano.
