We took advantage of the Genoa Boat Show to take the helm of the Omaya 50. Like the first boat unveiled in Cannes last year, this hull #2 was built in Silistra, Bulgaria, where Omaya has a 161,500 sq ft (15,000 m²) industrial facility backed by the family-owned Elica Group. Launched in 2020, the brand is currently focusing on this 50-foot powercat and a forthcoming version extended to 53 feet.

With a beam of 27'6" (8.39 m) for a length of just 49'2" (14.98 m), the Omaya offers a particularly generous platform. On board, this beam obviously benefits the interior volumes: the vast saloon connects directly to the foredeck via a pantograph side door. The Owner’s cabin occupies the port hull, with a large desk and a 6'7" × 4'11" (2 × 1.5 m) bed set into an alcove. To starboard, the two double cabins each feature a 4'11" (1.5 m) wide berth. The flybridge can be accessed via two stairways. The builder offers three- or four-cabin configurations.
Our boat, equipped with twin 440 hp Yanmar 6LV engines, managed to exceed 20 knots, but the Omaya seemed more at ease at a moderate cruising speed of 10 to 12 knots.
