Scarab 10

A trimaran for getting into amateur building

Admittedly, this mini-multihull is probably one of the smallest there is - except little training boats for kids. And yet, one or even two adults (as long as they’re not too heavy) can sail it, as the central hull is beamy enough to offer significant buoyancy.

The Sacrab 10 is intended for amateur construction, and can be built in plywood. The sliding arms are in aluminum and the rig is self-supporting. The plans, usually priced at $100 AUD, are on offer at half price throughout April. If you feel like a taking on a DIY project, now is the time!
