At the stand, David Sheppard, Sales and Marketing Director, reiterated the brand’s core business: “We mainly design propellers for sailboats and motor yachts, and in the recreational boating sector, we offer the Autoprop and the Varifold.”
The Autoprop is based on an automatic variable pitch mechanical principle. “The propeller constantly finds the right pitch for the speed of the boat,” explains David. This process optimizes propulsive efficiency compared to a conventional propeller, reduces hydrodynamic resistance when purely under sail, and improves performance astern by maintaining the leading edge of the propeller. The technology is also available with the Autoprop Eco*Star, developed for hybrid and electric engines. Bruntons is currently working with several shipyards involved in electric and hybrid multihull projects, particularly on aluminum vessels designed for long-distance cruising.

Another solution presented is the Varifold, a folding propeller designed to reduce drag under sail while maintaining satisfactory efficiency under power. Specific versions for sail drives are also available and widely used on multihulls.
