With computers and cellphones getting smaller and smaller, fixed VHF radios might seem somewhat outdated... However, manufacturers such as Navicom are rising to the challenge of compact design.
The two new RT950 and RT950 AIS radios combine technological innovation, ease of installation and maximum safety for both recreational boaters and maritime professionals alike, with an ultra-compact 156 x 61 mm format, allowing for seamless integration into any space, whether flush-mounted or on a bracket. These VHF radios feature a built-in GPS antenna, adjustable power output (1/25 W), an LCD screen designed for optimal readability (even in direct sunlight), IPX7 waterproofing on the front panel, ATIS/DSC (automated emergency calls) functions, and NMEA compatibility.
The RT950 AIS, as its name suggests, is equipped with an integrated AIS receiver: it detects surrounding vessels and triggers automatic CPA/TCPA alerts in the event of a collision risk. Its MOB AIS compatibility (EPIRB and Sart AIS) ensures increased safety in the event of distress at sea.
RT950 retail price: € 299.00 inc. tax
RT950 AIS retail price: € 489.00 inc. tax
