Australian manufacturer Rainman, known in particular for its portable watermakers housed in a case, is expanding its range with an automatic control panel. The aim is to minimize the intervention required to produce fresh water on board.

The system can be controlled from a wired panel or, via Bluetooth, from a smartphone or tablet. It allows users to program either an operating time or a volume of water to be produced, while monitoring pressure, flow rates, salinity and temperature. Connected to the tank sensor, it automatically stops production when the tank is full.
The panel also manages pressure according to whether the boat is operating in fresh, brackish or salt water, as well as Autoflush cycles. When the system is not in use, a flush is automatically triggered every seven days. Rainman has nevertheless retained a manual backup control in the event of an electronics failure.
Compatible with existing Rainman AC electric watermakers, the system can therefore also be used to upgrade an installation already on board. This brings the watermaker closer to becoming a true push-button piece of equipment, particularly useful for bluewater cruising.
