The Vijuio platform brings together a range of tools useful for cruising navigation within a single interface. Routing, marine weather, AIS, instrument connectivity, passage planning, and safety features: the application relies on a centralized approach enhanced by artificial intelligence.
Among the platform’s key features are a GO/NO-GO briefing before departure, intelligent routing, an offline mode for passages, and an emergency button capable of generating a pre-filled MAYDAY message complete with GPS position and relevant onboard information. Connectivity with onboard instruments via SignalK/NMEA is also among the announced functions, along with a community space where sailors can share routes, anchorages, and alerts.
Vijuio currently claims to integrate 26 tools and features into one application. Artificial intelligence is primarily used here as an aid for analyzing and synthesizing available data to simplify passage preparation and onboard decision-making. The platform also highlights several features related to safety, weather routing, and offshore passage planning.
As is often the case with this type of solution, some functions still require an active internet connection, particularly for weather data exchanges, AIS information, and interactions with the conversational AI. One important point worth emphasizing: while Vijuio is presented as a decision-support tool, it does not replace official nautical charts or the skipper’s experience.
Vijuio is currently offering a launch subscription at €9.99/month following a free 30-day trial period.
