British builder Archipelago Yachts, specializing in the design and construction of aluminum expedition powercats, has announced the order of a second Archipelago 80.
For the first time, the shipyard has brought the entire interior design process in-house. Hull #2 will feature a high-capacity helicopter landing platform offering greater operational flexibility, a dedicated gym and sauna creating a private wellness area on board, a significantly enlarged and optimized galley/preparation area for extended voyages, generous indoor and outdoor dining spaces designed for onboard comfort and entertaining, and accommodations for up to 16 passengers.
The Archipelago 80 retains the brand’s core principles: safety, simplicity, generous volume, speed and shallow draft. Its diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, 17.6-ton (16 t) payload capacity and 3,107-nautical mile (5,000-mile) range make it a particularly attractive exploration platform.
Construction, which will take place at the brand’s new facility on the Isle of Wight, is scheduled to begin in early 2027.
