MODX Catamarans is partnering with Barnes Yachting to strengthen its international commercial presence. The yachting division of Barnes International will now represent and promote the French brand to its network of owners, buyers, charter clients and international partners.

For MODX Catamarans, the obvious benefit of this partnership is access to a clientele already familiar with high-end yachting. Barnes Yachting is active in sales, charter, co-ownership and concierge services, drawing on the Barnes group’s international network. For its part, the luxury real estate specialist is adding a catamaran with a decidedly unconventional positioning to its offering.
Designed by VPLP Design, the MODX 70 features a propulsion system free from fossil fuels: two automated Aeroforce® inflatable wings provide sail propulsion, while electric motors, batteries and a large area of solar panels complete the energy system. The first boat notably reached La Grande-Motte after covering more than 2,000 miles without using fossil fuels.
The MODX 70 is anything but an unfamiliar catamaran to the Multihulls World community: it won Multihull of the Year 2025 in the Multiyacht category before being featured in a full test in our Forever Green Special Issue #24. That recognition and exposure are now taking on a new commercial dimension with this partnership, designed to introduce the MODX 70 - as well as a forthcoming smaller model expected to be announced shortly - to a broader international clientele.
