This is a catamaran with a particularly successful and refined design (bearing the signature of Malcolm Mckeon Yacht Design) and it joins the ambitious BlackCat Superyachts range imagined by Mitch Booth. This new 118-foot (36m) catamaran joins two 98-foot (30m) and 164-foot (50m) models.
The emphasis has been placed on comfort: the BlackCat 36 will be able to accommodate up to 8 guests and 5 crew in 4 double guest cabins fitted out with the greatest of care. But performance is where this multiyacht should particularly stand out... with its daggerboards and its rotating carbon mast measuring just short of 150 feet (45 m), it should ensure an average speed of 14 knots and be capable of reaching 30 knots! The BlackCat 36 has been custom designed for an Owner but is now offered in small series by M2atelier Baltic Yachts. This catamaran integrates energy management systems and solar and hydro technologies to generate “clean” electricity. The aim is obviously to offer low-emissions boating. We don’t yet know the precise characteristics (in particular, those of the motors), so the BlackCat 36 is being unveiled in our Multiyacht feature, but it could well be better placed among the multihulls in our Forever Green section!
