Based in New Zealand since 2016, Earthling has become a specialist in electric drivetrains and offers a hybrid powercat based on the very sleek Stealth 36 – a catamaran designed by Australian Alan Carwardine and built in Phuket, Thailand.
This sailing-inspired design is somewhat unusual in the world of powercats, reminding us of Comar Yachts, whose C-Cat 40 Power Fish we tested. However, this particular platform has the advantage of generating very little drag at low and medium speeds thanks to the fineness of its hulls. And it is precisely these characteristics that are perfectly suited to electric propulsion, as we will soon be able to see at the Cannes Yachting Festival, where the E-40 will be on display from September9 to 14! The electric powercat will also be on display at the Barcelona International Boat Show (October 8 to 12).
