Groupama Race
This race, which can be seen as the biggest leeward/windward race in the world (!) lasts from two to five days and sails around New Caledonia, over a 654-mile course. This year there will be two former Orma 60s coming from Australia and New Zealand (Michel Desjoyeaux’s former Geant and Pascal Bidégorry’s former Banque Populaire IV). The current record is 2 days and 33 minutes, but if the conditions are right, no doubt it will be broken…
