2025 feels like the year I’ve worked more from my catamaran than ever before. It never ceases to amaze me the role that modern communications technology plays in the way we work at Multihulls World.
The office is in Nice in the South of France, yet most of us on the team are rarely there. Because of the international nature of what we do, many of us are traveling a lot of the time, whether testing new multihulls, visiting shipyards, attending boat shows or rallies and races, or maybe just cruising. And even when not traveling, we seem to live in all four corners of the globe. Right now, I’m motorsailing up the leeward coast of Saint Vincent. I’ll be in Saint Lucia later and hope to meet up with our illustrious editor, as he’s in town for the arrival of the ARC. Last time I saw him was at September’s La Rochelle boat show, and the time before that, at the ARC+ finish in Grenada last year. And yet, thanks to modern technology, we all work together every day. It means I can work from the chart table as well as I can from the office, yet it seems not so long ago that I made my first multihull ocean crossing and the only option for keeping in touch with home was hand-written letters sent and received using the Poste Restante service. The magazine you read today is of course light years ahead of those times, and with new but very familiar faces having taken over the helm in 2025, Multihulls World and our French language edition, Multicoques Mag, are all set for 2026!
