This new model focuses on comfort with its generous interior space, forward door, fold-down bulwarks, and a very sensible sail-to-weight ratio of 7.5 m²/t.
The main selling point of the 42CEP is its powertrain – it is electric as standard. With either propulsion option, the designers expect speeds of around 7.5 to 8 knots. The advertised range at 5 knots is 50 miles, or 80 with the optional battery bank. For long-distance sailors, the yard offers a hybrid system that extends the range to over 1,000 miles. Also noteworthy are the integration of 4 kWp of solar panels and the substantial load capacity of 4 tons.
The NYX 42CEP is set to make its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
