The Lagoon 46, launched in June 2019, has discreetly been one of the yard’s best-sellers, with some 700 examples sold over the course of seven years - undoubtedly a record for this size of multihull... but the time has come for the world’s leading manufacturer of cruising multihulls to unveil a new model!
Past success brings with it considerable pressure for the future: it’s not necessarily easy to do better and innovate. For this new 47, set to be revealed in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the designers have focused on the forward cockpit and door. Until now, a front door was reserved for Lagoon Signature models (60 feet and above). The 47 heralds a new generation that will impose this configuration on future models. While the concept of a forward door caused quite a stir in back 2010 with the launch of the Leopard 44, over the years it has become a common feature - and even today an undeniable asset. With the 47, Lagoon goes further by offering a full cockpit at the front, reducing the traditional trampolines to their simplest form. The new Lagoon will therefore offer two protected/shaded areas (the aft cockpit and the rear of the flybridge) and a sunny area with this new XXL foredeck.
