Though this day cruiser, designed and built in Denmark by Rand Boats, was originally offered with two 150 HP internal combustion engines, it is available in a green version.
One customer had the excellent idea of ordering this powercat with a pair of 40-kW electric outboards and a roof entirely covered with solar panels. The plan is to cruise during the summer in the Mediterranean and make the most of the anchorages thanks to the deck layout, which is designed for relaxation. The combination of this green powertrain and the innovative design of the Solara 33 is very convincing: we like the original design of the beveled bows on all three sides and the angled break in the superstructure. The choice of this platform with its particularly narrow hulls for electric use should prove very effective in terms of efficiency and performance.
