Veya 53

A First Model with Big Ambitions

As Florent Battistella, head of Guy Couach, had promised us, his Veya 53 was indeed present at the Cannes Yachting Festival. For context, Veya Yachts is a new brand resulting from an ambitious joint venture between Fountaine Pajot and Couach Catamarans.

The MY designation is therefore gone, making way for this first Veya, launched last July. Designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, this 53-foot powercat is positioned as a high-end model intended for comfortable cruising and extended stays aboard. Its modern design stands out with a coachroof featuring reverse-angle lines, while its vast living spaces are available in three- or four-cabin versions. The generous flybridge, spacious aft cockpit and forward lounge provide easy circulation and excellent conviviality. Powered by twin 400 to 550 hp diesel engines, the Veya 53 promises good performance. The new brand is expected to expand soon with new models - both smaller and larger.

As a side note, the seat at the desk was modified following our comments during our visit to the factory last June - congratulations to the designers for their responsiveness!
