UK-based shipyard Dazcat has announced a new catamaran – or more precisely, a new pair of hulls – which will be available in three different models depending on the desired program.
This semi-custom formula aims to significantly reduce delivery times by streamlining the construction process. The hulls unveiled feature a pronounced bow chine that will undoubtedly become the signature feature of the D1500. The platform is initially available for cruising with a cockpit that extends far aft, meaning the D1500C will be accessible to people with reduced mobility. The intermediate version, called the D1500S Sport, has a lower cockpit and a slightly more powerful sail plan. The ultimate evolution of this new model is, of course, dedicated to racing – something that’s always been very dear to Dazcat. The D1500R for racing uses carbon wherever possible, has no hull portholes and, above all, boasts an impressive rig.
The first hulls are due to be out of the molds this summer, while the first D1500 is scheduled to splash in the fall of 2026.
