Remember: the "Route du Jasmin" sailing rally, launched in 1990 by Jo Minniti, guided hundreds of crews for nearly thirty years on a north-south route in the Mediterranean, connecting the French Riviera to Tunisia. Now, the Vogavecmoi club, a leading crew exchange platform in France, is (re)launching a new nautical rally on this legendary route for the upcoming summer under the provisional name "Flottille du Jasmin"!
Under the initiative of Souhaiel Malouche, a Franco-Tunisian sailor - member of the Vogavecmoi club, which counts over 100,000 members - this flotilla will set sail towards Tunisia with the goal of discovering the millennia-old historical and cultural heritage of this still too little-known country. The rally, obviously open to multihulls, will of course be punctuated by dream stops in Corsica and Sardinia!
• Departure around July 13 (departure port to be confirmed on the French Riviera)
• Girolata, Corsica
• Porto Pollo, Corsica
• Ansinara, Sardinia
• Oristano, Sardinia
• Carloforte, Sardinia
• Bizerte, Tunisia
• Gammarth/Carthage, Tunisia
• Hammamet, Tunisia
• 10 to 15 days to reach Bizerte
• 7 to 10 days on site (between Bizerte, Gammarth/Carthage, and Hammamet). The stopover in Tunisia will indeed be an opportunity to go beyond the marina areas. Numerous excursions will be offered to visit Tunisian heritage, notably the Roman archaeological sites.
• End of the flotilla around August 2
