2026 Multipower Buyer's Guide

It’s taken almost 30 years for the power multihull market to be considered dynamic and promising... In a way, it’s amusing to note that the “trawler” trend, i.e. interest in vessels with long range and moderate speed, is making a strong comeback after having been disparaged for so long.
In short, today, the motor multihull market is the one in which the marine industry is investing the most. These manufacturers most often come from the world of sailing multihulls or monohull speedboats... but not exclusively: new manufacturers are entering the market and bringing with them new standards and innovative solutions.
Motor multihulls (we call them multipowers) offer more interior volume, a larger deck area, better performance at sea (and at anchor!), but much lower fuel consumption - hard to beat!
As for the multiyacht sector, it has been growing rapidly since 2015, and now sport cruisers under 42 feet are also booming.
Two- and three-hulled powerboats have definitely got the wind in their sails, as it were, and that’s not just a metaphor, as there are hybrid power/sail formulas now on offer.
What’s more, the range of multipowers equipped with electric motors continues to grow - you’ll find them in this Buyer’s Guide thanks to their Forever Green leaf. Solar panels and ever more efficient batteries enable us to sail while considerably reducing carbon emissions - or even eliminating them altogether. What if motoring on two or three hulls became as virtuous as sailing?
