Fountaine Pajot

The Builder Celebrating its 50th Anniversary at Nice Boating Tomorrow

What a journey since the first lightweight dinghies built as early as 1976! Always led by top-level racing sailors, the Fountaine Pajot yard even ventured into windsurfing (competitive windsurfing, of course) before turning its attention to cruising catamarans.

It was 1983 when the Louisiane was launched - an iconic model that marked the beginning of the brand’s success in this sector. Since then, the boats have steadily gained in comfort while maintaining an elegant style, first shaped by Joubert-Nivelt and then, from 1991 onward with the Marquises, by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.

Fountaine Pajot is also the first major sailing yacht builder to commit in a lasting way to electric propulsion - a step taken four years ago with the Aura 51.

The builder will of course be present at Nice Boating Tomorrow, the international show dedicated to sustainable boating - and we will be there as well! - to present the FP41 in its ODSea version (see our full test).

We will soon publish a full article on the story of this shipyard, which has already produced 5,000 cruising catamarans.
