Xquisite Yachts, a builder specializing in long-distance cruising catamarans, both sail and power, has unveiled the 52 Exploration Powercat, the little sister of the Sixty Solar Power and a new model designed for extended cruising.

Measuring 52’8” (16.05 m) long with a beam of 23’11” (7.28 m), this powercat is designed to be operated directly by its Owners, without professional crew. The builder even describes the model as suitable for circumnavigation.
The 52 Exploration has a displacement of 28 tons and, above all, substantial tank capacities: 1,321 US gal (5,000 l) of fuel, 227 US gal (860 l) of fresh water and 106 US gal (400 l) for the holding tanks. The roof can accommodate up to 8 kWp of solar panels. The layout features three cabins and three bathrooms, accommodating four to six people.
Hybrid propulsion will be available as an option, with two 180 kW electric motors combined with two 160 kW generators and a 220 kWh battery bank. This substantial installation should allow extensive use of the onboard systems as well as certain phases of cruising in full-electric mode.
Tooling for the new model is already under way, with the first unit scheduled to be launched in 2028.
