Yot Factory

Up to 160,000 kWh of Electricity Generated!

Although they’re not (yet) offering an electric powertrain, Yot Power Catamarans’ brand-new factory in Aveiro, Portugal, runs on solar energy!

The photovoltaic power plant in Shed #1 “Assembly” was commissioned a few months ago. The installation consists of 1,818 550 Wp solar panels attached to the roof of the building, giving a total power output of 800 kWp. Estimated production is for 80,000 kWh in February and up to 160,000 kWh in August. Yot has already achieved significant environmental benefits, avoiding more than 20 tons of CO₂ emissions. Once the necessary permits have been obtained, the shipyard should soon be able to feed surplus energy back into the grid.
